If youve replaced the battery in your Ford key fob and its still not working, youll need to reset it to the vehicle.
- This can be done by following these steps:
- Start with the key out of the ignition and all doors closed
- Insert and remove the key from the ignition six times within ten seconds
- Leave the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position, press and release the lock button on the key fob
- Turn the key to the off position and remove it from the ignition, and the doors should now lock and then unlock, indicating that the reset is complete.
How Do I Get A Replacement Key
If your coded keys are lost or stolen and you do not have an extra one, new coded keys may be obtained from your Ford Dealer. For security reasons, you must visit the Ford Dealer in person and provide proof of identification and vehicle ownership:
- Personal Identification such as a valid Driver’s License, state-issued picture I.D, or passport.
- Vehicle documentation with the Vehicle Identification Number and the name of the person seeking the key codes. Examples could include current Vehicle Registration, current Certificate of Automobile Insurance, Vehicle Title, or Bill of Sale.
