Apple has done a very poor job in their Apple Stores with their battery replacement program. My experience required 3 visits to the store, with long waits each time. This could have been done with one visit via an appointment. My first visit was to order the battery, there should have been the ability to do this online – this visit took over one hour, the store was very chaotic and the employees had little idea which customers had been served vs. waiting for service. The second visit was to drop off the phone for repair . The third visit was to pick up the phone – this should have taken 5 minutes, but instead there is a process to ask for the phone, then someone behind the scene is asked to bring the phone out. When the phone came out , it was like I had won a prize when my name was called.In addition, my old battery was not returned. My old battery was still good . Apple is worse than a car repair shop, at least at a car repair shop I am offered the old parts.I found Apple to be very arrogant in the way I was treated . The next phone I buy, I will strongly consider a non-iPhone because of their shoddy treatment.

Technically, yes. As we just covered, you can completely deplete your batterys ability to hold a charge. My partners MacBook is actually at this point it has more than 1,000 cycles on it and will die if its off of its charger for more than five minutes.

While that is pretty annoying, shes been using it for several months like that. There are no signs of swelling and she never notices any drops in performance. So despite being annoying, it doesnt get in the way, either.

Like most of the stuff I write here at AppleToolBox, this article is coming from personal experience. Today, were going to be talking about your MacBook battery.

About a month ago, I got a notification on my MacBook 12 from 2017 that said my battery needed to be serviced. This caught me off-guard at first, but then I thought about the age of my MacBook, and it seemed pretty reasonable.

Still, I decided to put it off for a bit. I wasnt experiencing any serious performance issues, so not a problem, right?

Well, two weeks later I was holding my MacBook and noticed that one of the seams on the bottom didnt feel so smooth. I compared this to the seam on the opposite side and confirmed it my battery was swelling!

I talked to Apple Support that night and took it to the Apple Store the next day.

In this post, Im going to share my experience with you, everything I learned along the way, and Ill be covering some extra tips and insights that I wish I wouldve known before all of this happened.

A bad adapter and cable can charge your MacBook incorrectly and/or ineffectively. That can lead to wear and tear on your battery that shortens its lifespan.

An easy way to avoid this is to replace your cables and adapters when they start to look worn out. Adapters are more expensive but also shouldnt get damaged very easily, even after years of use. Be gentle with them, and replace them if you notice issues with the port or prongs.

When it comes to cables, look to replace them if you start to notice discoloration or tearing. Both can affect its performance, which can affect your MacBook battery.

Both of these parts are recyclable as e-waste. Take them to your local electronics store or Apple Store and drop them off for free!

Its not ideal to have to pay the $99, but if you think about it, the price is not so high if it gets your device working again. The time that it might not be worth it to get the replacement battery is if you have an older generation of the iPad, and you feel like it might be time to get a newer one.

If there are fun or useful features on the newer iPads that didnt exist when you bought your current one, then it may be time to pay for an upgrade. If you do that, you could at least sell off your used one and put the money that you get from it toward the brand-new iPad. If you sell the used iPad to Apple, then you can also get store credit to put toward the new one, rather than cash.

Iphone Battery Replacement Cost

One of the most common iPhone repairs is replacing the battery. And, as a result of being such a common repair it can often be completed relatively quickly.

As youll notice in the table below, Apple charges either $49 or $69 for a battery replacement. The $69 price point is for newer models, and the older models are at the $49 price point. A local repair shop is generally going to be close in price, but there is a potential of paying more on some models, such as with the iPhone 12.

I have an appointment scheduled for next Monday at an Apple store for a battery replacement on my early 2015 MacBook Pro with a Retina display. I was told that for this model, they need to swap the entire keyboard and track pad in order to replace the battery.

Can the repair be done in the same day, or does it typically take several business days?

I had this done on my 2014 MBP last year, and it took exactly 7 days. It might be quicker or slower, depending on how busy they are, but it is a difficult job.
