Honda Battery 100 Month Prorated Warranty Question
I asked the dealership parts department how much a Honda replacement battery would cost, and was told $108.xx, which is 25% off the $145.xx list, due to local competition.
I then asked the service department about replacing the battery under the 100 month prorated warranty. I was told they could only do the replacement under the 100 month prorated warranty based on the $145.xx LIST price AND they would need to charge me labor to install it, at an estimated total cost of $145 to $150, even after using the 100 month prorated warranty.
Can anybody give any feedback on what I’m being told at the Honda dealership regarding the 100 month prorated warranty?
If what I’m being told is correct, the Honda battery 100 month prorated warranty seems pretty useless.
I could buy another Honda battery for $108.xx from the dealership parts department and install it myself, but if what the dealership service department told me is correct, the 100 month prorated warranty is useless for a self-replacement.
Given that, I think I’d be better off buying an Interstate brand battery from Costco for $109.99 with the same 36 month replacement warranty, but without Honda’s seemingly useless additional 100 month prorated warranty.
