A Fast Processor And Long Battery Life

iPhone 13 Pro Max Battery Life – Make it Last ALL DAY!

It was hard to make the 13 Pro or 13 Pro Max slow down during our testing. We could be switching Focus modes, have upward of 40 applications open in the background and do all this while a FaceTime call was running on top. We had no issues running applications like Slack, Trello, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Outlook, Word, Photoshop Express, Pixelmator, Catalyst Black, RFS and all the preinstalled ones.

You just wont see drastic improvements over the 12 Mini, 12, 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max an image export might finish a second or two faster, and games will open up about three seconds faster for larger titles. They all feel very seamless, but the gains are more evident with an iPhone 11 or older, especially with intensive tasks.

One area with a more significant leap is with battery life. Prior to launch, the company promised that the 13 Pro would be an hour and a half longer than the 12 Pro, and the 13 Pro Max would last two and a half hours longer than the 12 Pro Max. In our real-world usage, weve gotten 16 hours of battery life.

Both devices can be charged via a Lightning cable or wirelessly through MagSafe or the Qi standard.

More Dynamic Island Please

The Dynamic Island displays different tiny icons and animations. During a FaceTime call, a green camera icon shows on the left side.

The Dynamic Island works well. but it’s not without quirks. For example, the Dynamic Island sticks out further into the screen than the notch did, which is noticeable when watching some videos. I also wish that more non-Apple apps took advantage of the Dynamic Island.

Also, we haven’t had the full experience with the Dynamic Island that Apple intended. It’s part of a trinity of features that also includes the always-on display and Live Activities, which tracks the progress of certain activities like showing you the live score of a basketball team on your lock screen. The Dynamic Island will truly shine once apps fully adopt Live Activities which should be sooner than later now that iOS 16.2 is out.

How Many Years Should An Iphone Last

An iPhone is typically a durable and long-lasting device, and you can expect to get three to five years of service from it. Of course, you can still squeeze out a couple more years to add to your iPhones expected life span if youre deliberate in taking good care of it. You can keep your software up to date for the best performance, but eventually, your phone may become obsolete when the hardware deteriorates and it can no longer handle any more software updates.

The Iphone 14 Is More Expensive Even If The Price Didn’t Go Up

The baseline iPhone 14 is $829, which is the same as the iPhone 12 and 13 when they launched. But there is a difference. In 2020 and 2021, Apple also sold the iPhone 12 Mini and 13 Mini at $729. That essentially means the barrier to entry for a new iPhone is now more expensive, since the Mini isn’t part of the iPhone 14 lineup. To alleviate the price, Apple and US carriers have a ton of trade-in deals. Apple also still sells the iPhone 13 for $729, which can save you some money.

Then there’s the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, which are Apple’s most expensive models. They have the same starting prices as the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max and as the 2018 iPhone XS and XS Max when they came out. Basically, the prices for Apple’s top-of-the-line models haven’t increased but they are hard to find. Apple scaled back production on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max because of COVID-19 lockdowns in China. Currently, the iPhone 14 Pro is showing shipping times of three-and-a-half weeks.

If you’re trying to get an iPhone 14 Pro as a gift for someone, your best bet is to try carriers and third-party retailers. However, Apple’s retail stores typically get more restock. And I wouldn’t dissuade you from ordering an iPhone 14 Pro. It’s an excellent phone and will still be one in three-and-a-half weeks.

Avoid Using Ios 16s Haptic Keyboard

Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max

New to iOS 16 is the ability to turn on a haptically-responsive keyboard, giving you a slight buzz when you tap on keyboard keys. Android users and iPhone jailbreakers have enjoyed this feature for years, and its the first time that vanilla iPhone users can enjoy it too. But the effect quickly becomes bittersweet as the extraneous use of the Taptic Engine draws on power from the battery.

If battery life is more important to you than a vibrating keyboard, you can ensure this feature stays turned off under Settings Sounds & Haptics Keyboard Feedback by turning off the Haptic setting. You can even go a step further and disable haptics system-wide by turning off the System Haptics setting in the same preference pane, but this disables haptic feedback system-wide for a variety of different controls and interactions.

Your Battery’s Maximum Capacity

The Battery Health screen includes information on maximum battery capacity and peak performance capability.

Maximum battery capacity measures the device battery capacity relative to when it was new. A battery will have lower capacity as the battery chemically ages which may result in fewer hours of usage between charges. Depending upon the length of time between when the iPhone was made and when it is activated, your battery capacity may show as slightly less than 100%.

A normal battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles when operating under normal conditions. The one-year warranty includes service coverage for a defective battery. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers battery service for a charge. Learn more about charge cycles.

As your battery health degrades, so can its ability to deliver peak performance. The Battery Health screen includes a section for Peak Performance Capability where the following messages may appear.

Iphone 14 Battery Life

The regular iPhone 14 lasted a solid but unspectacular 9 hours and 28 minutes in our battery test. We consider anything above 11.5 hours great.

Apple’s 6.1-inch handset has a relatively small 3,279 mAh battery, but it actually outlasted the Galaxy S22‘s larger 3,700 mAh battery, which turned in a runtime of 8:02.

The 7 endured for a poor average of 7 hours and 14 minutes, and that’s with a fairly large 4,355 mAh battery. So overall the iPhone 14 wins among smaller flagship phones in terms of battery live.

A Trio Of Versatile Lenses With A Superpower

The aspect that sets the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max apart from other phones even the 13 and 13 Mini is the phones cameras. And by just reading the megapixels, you might think theyre identical. You still get a 12-megapixel wide, 12-megapixel ultrawide and 12-megapixel telephoto camera, but they feature upgraded sensors and modes.

Lets start with the 12-megapixel wide camera, which features a massive sensor that makes itself a really dependable shooter in a variety of situations. The physically larger sensor allows more light to be captured, which in turn creates a more detailed image.

Thats paired with a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens that is set in a 120-degree field of view. Unlike on other devices with ultrawide, you wont see weird blurs in the corners or an overtly fish-eye effect. Like the main lens, this features a larger sensor, which aids in reducing grain, blurriness and unpleasantness in the shot. Whats not gone is a lens flare, but it is reduced.

Apples macro mode also doesnt require heavy lifting to use it you just simply get closer to an object and it intelligently switches into the proper shooting mode. Its macro done the right way and a core reason why these lenses are so versatile.

How Long Is Battery Life For The Iphone 13 Pro

iPhone 13 Pro Max – 9 Months Later (100% Battery Health)

Where things get even more exciting is with the Pro iPhones. For folks who pick up the iPhone 13 Pro, here are the numbers they can expect: up to 22 hours of video playback, up to 20 hours of streaming video, and up to 75 hours of audio playback. Almost all of those are better numbers than the regular iPhone 13 even though the iPhone 13 Pro has the same screen size and a slightly smaller 3,095mAh capacity. How is that possible? It’s more than likely thanks to the iPhone 13 Pro’s LTPO display technology. While this allows the iPhone 13 Pro to hit 120Hz refresh rates while scrolling and interacting with the screen, it also enables it to go all the way down to 10Hz when reading an article, viewing a photo, etc. Compared to the iPhone 12 Pro, the iPhone 13 Pro should generally last about 1.5 hours longer than its predecessor.

Last but certainly not least, there’s the iPhone 13 Pro Max. If battery life is someone’s top priority when buying a new smartphone, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is one of the very best options out there. Apple says it can last up to 28 hours for video playback, up to 25 hours for streaming video, and up to 95 hours for audio playback. All of that’s possible thanks to the 4,352mAh battery inside the device, which typically allows for an extra 2.5 hours of use over the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Question: Q: Iphone 13 Pro Poor Battery Life Time

I have a pretty big concern about battery life in my new iPhone 13 Pro. It is said, that this iPhone is provided with the best battery life ever, not only among iPhones, but also among other companies flagships.

In many battery drain tests on YouTube, or by many users opinions, iPhone 13 Pro can last for approximately 7-9 hours on screen time, whereas my record OST is about 4-4,5 hours and 100% battery usage.

In the attachment you can find screenshots of my battery usage. I use standard apps like Facebook, Instagram, safari, music, etc. No 4K video recording, nor video gaming.

All my settings are set to maximum battery saving, however I dont buy $1000 phone to use half of its capabilities just to make it throughout the entire day.

Moreover, I have already handed this phone over on warranty to get it checked and they said there is no problem and everything works perfectly great. But its not. Then, I handed it second time and they changed motherboard and battery. Still the same problem, 4-5H OST every day!

I have tried everything, from updating the iOS to trying to use it as a completely new phone.

Even during writing this I lost 4% of power!! With 50% screen brightness and connected to WIFI.

I dont know what I can do.. I cannot return it, service cannot help me either. I feel a bit scammed, especially that I use iPhones, as well as other Apple devices since the first iPod shuffle and first iPhone.

Can you recommend me any solution to this case?

If You Want The Longest Battery Life The Iphone 13 Pro Max Is The One To Get

In our battery test, the iPhone 13 Pro Max streamed a continuous video at full screen brightness for a whopping 20 hours and 18 minutes. That’s about four hours longer than the iPhone 13 Pro, and about six hours longer than the standard iPhone 13 in the same test.

That’s five hours short of Apple’s claim of 25 hours for video streaming, and real-life testing more often than not comes short of manufacturer claims. Regardless, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has the best battery life we’ve tested on any smartphone so far it’s almost four hours longer-lasting than Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Slightly Smaller Battery Capacity

13 Best Smartphones In Malaysia 2022 (With Mid Range Option) (2022)

The iPhone 14 Pro Max sports a 4,323 mAh battery, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max had a larger 4,352 mAh battery thats 29mAh smaller than the predecessor, and while its not much to speak of, a smaller battery means youll run out of juice more quickly.

The iPhone 14 Pro actually gains a larger battery at 3,200 mAh compared to the iPhone 13 Pros 3,095 mAh battery, which is 105 mAh larger than the predecessor. This larger battery means the iPhone 14 Pro gets more power to work with, but the new features of the device have the propensity to tax that increased battery capacity very quickly.

What Are Signs That My Iphone Battery Is Bad

Your iPhones battery will go through performance issues along the way, and you should replace your battery when you encounter these problems. You should never attempt a DIY battery replacement with an iPhone, as it will void your warranty and you could cause more issues if you dont know what youre doing.

Having said that, here are some signs that your iPhone battery may need to be replaced.

The Iphone 14 Pro Max Battery Life

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is packed with a 4,323 mAh battery, a step down from the iPhone 13 Pro Max‘s 4,352 mAh. However, according to our testing, it managed to outpace its predecessor in the battery life arena.

According to the Laptop Mag battery test, which involves the phone continuously surfing the web on a cellular network at 150 nits of brightness, the iPhone 14 Pro Max lasted 13 hours and 7 minutes . We tested the iPhone 14 Pro Max five times to get this result. On the same test, the iPhone 13 Pro Max lasted 12 hours and 16 minutes.

Iphone 13 Pro Max Review: Battery Life And Charging

  • 12 hours and 16 minutes of battery life is among the longest lasting phones
  • Charging still stuck at 20W with no USB-C port

Now we come to one of the best parts of the iPhone 13 Pro Max review: battery life. Thanks to a larger battery and other enhancements, the iPhone 13 Pro Max lasted a fantastic 12 hours and 16 minutes on the Toms Guide battery test, which surfs the web over 5G continuously at 150 nits of screen brightness.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max last year lasted 10 hours and 53 minutes and Galaxy S21 Ultra endured for 11:25. Anything above 11 hours is great, so the iPhone 13 Pro Max earns a spot on our best phone battery life list.

Head over to our iPhone 13 battery life results page to see how the iPhone 13 Pro Max compares to the other new iPhones and the best Android phones.

The news is not that great on the charging front, as the iPhone 13 Pro Max reaches just 50% capacity after 30 minutes using a 20W UBC-C charger, while other phones like the OnePlus 9 Pro and Xiaomi 11T Pro can get to 100% in 30 minutes or less. MagSafe charging, while convenient, is even slower at 15W.

Lets Talk About 5g Again

iPhone 13 (All Models): Battery Life DRAIN TEST! *Shocking Results*

For the second year in a row the iPhone features 5G and both of the Pro models, like the non-Pro ones, feature the two core standards in the United States: Sub-6 and mmWave. And like we said last year, 5G at least the one we all want is pretty hard to find. And that goes for most carriers .

So lets break down the types of 5G youll see on the 13 Pro or 13 Pro Max. 5G in the top right corner means youre connected to a likely nationwide Sub-6 network from a carrier. This is standard 5G in a low-band capacity, which is easier to roll out. But it also doesnt deliver on the wild speeds weve been promised. Speeds will be in line with 4G LTE at 200 to 300 Mbps, but the affordance is more bandwidth on a given network.

5G UW is likely the 5G you want, but it can be trickier to find. Its the ultrawide-band mmWave 5G that delivers super-fast speeds, but you need to be in direct line of sight with a cell tower at least, thats what we needed in testing this year and with the iPhone 12 Pro last year. Its a harder network to roll out, and no carrier offers it truly everywhere. In our testing, a building blocking the phone to the tower or walking further down the street resulted in the connection being dropped.
