Does A Larger Battery Mean Longer Iphone 13 Battery Life

A larger battery has more capacity, measured through milliampere-hour or watt-hour . More capacity means more power for your device. However, this only really works when you compare two devices with the same hardware and software doing the same tasks.

    Stepwise improvement over 12 pro

    Like most Apple products it is a slight but noticeable improvement over last years model or a two year old model. It is neither significantly lighter or thinner or faster, nor are the cameras mind blowingly better But its still the same quality and reliability. If you need a new Apple phone it wont disappoint, if you have an iPhone 11 or 12 save your money as functionally it is the same.

Disable Or Subdue The Always

Batteries are consumables they lose a little capacity every time they are discharged, then recharged. On average this works out to about a 1% loss for every 25 full charge cycles . As one example, if you charge the phone overnight, every night , it starts the day at 100%. If it drops to 20% by the end of the day before you charge it again overnight that counts as 0.8 full charge cycles , or about 24 full charge cycles per month of use. For this example your battery capacity will lose about 1% per month. Of course, if the end-of-day level is higher than 20% the capacity loss will be a little less, and if it is lower than 20%, or you charge it during the day, the capacity loss will be higher.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max sports a 4,323 mAh battery, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max had a larger 4,352 mAh battery thats 29mAh smaller than the predecessor, and while its not much to speak of, a smaller battery means youll run out of juice more quickly.

The iPhone 14 Pro actually gains a larger battery at 3,200 mAh compared to the iPhone 13 Pros 3,095 mAh battery, which is 105 mAh larger than the predecessor. This larger battery means the iPhone 14 Pro gets more power to work with, but the new features of the device have the propensity to tax that increased battery capacity very quickly.

Iphone 14 Battery Capacities For All Four Models Revealed Ahead Of Launch

Apple does not advertise battery capacities for its new iPhone 14 lineup, but MacRumors has obtained this information from a Chinese regulatory database.

Three out of four iPhone 14 models feature larger battery capacities compared to the iPhone 13 lineup, with the exception being the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which is equipped with a slightly smaller battery compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Battery capacities for the iPhone 13 lineup:

The same database accurately revealed battery capacities for all four iPhone 13 models and the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro ahead of those devices launching last year. These exact battery capacities for all iPhone 14 models were also leaked in a post on Chinese website Weibo that was in June.

Apple says all four iPhone 14 models feature “all-day battery life.” iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max models feature up to one hour longer battery life for offline video playback compared to the equivalent iPhone 13 models, according to tech specs on Apple’s website, while there is no directly comparable model for the iPhone 14 Plus.

Despite A Smaller Capacity The Iphone 14 Pro Max Beats Last Year’s Flagship In Battery Test

The new battery test conducted by Tom’s Guide is designed to mimic real-world usage. In the battery test, the iPhone 14 Pro Max lasted an average of 14 hours and 42 minutes on a single charge. In contrast, last year’s iPhone 13 Pro Max lasted for 12 hours and 16 minutes. This is an almost 2 and a half hour jump in battery life. Altogether, Apple’s bigger flagship sits in second place after the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro.

The test findings also revealed that the latest flagship drained 30 percent of the battery in five hours. The test was constituted of app downloading, music, and taking photos or videos. Tom’s Guide stated:

Anecdotally, the iPhone 14 Pro Max fared quite well in terms of endurance. After charging close to 90% and then using the phone from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. for downloading apps, playing music and shooting photos and videos, the phone’s battery only dropped to 60%.

It was previously discovered that all iPhone 14 models come with bigger battery capacities except for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Henceforth, it is surprising to see a jump in battery life. Since the ‘Pro’ models are equipped with an A16 Bionic chip, it is more power efficient than the A15 Bionic.
