ShrimpApplePro also leaked alleged capacities of the other iPhone 14 variants. The standard iPhone 14 is said to have a 3,279mAh battery up from 3,240mAh in the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 14 Pro battery is said to be 3,200mAh up from 3,095mAh in the iPhone 13 Pro. This leaves the new iPhone 14 Max with its alleged 4,325mAh battery as the only model to feature a downgrade.
Theres no way of knowing if this leak is accurate or not, but if it is we are still expecting the iPhone 14 Max to be one of the best smartphones on the market when it launches. Furthermore, we are only talking about a slight download on the battery in the iPhone 13 Max, which has proved to have excellent battery life.

Which Iphone 14 Models Will Get Battery Improvements
The frequent tipster VNchocoTaco just shared a screenshot of what appears to be a Baidu post detailing all battery sizes of Apple’s unannounced iPhone 2022 lineup. The post mentions the batteries of the entire series, including the new iPhone 14 Max model with a 4,325 mAh capacity. That is about as much as the battery of the iPhone 14 Pro Max that comes in at 4,323 mAhdown from 4,352 mAh in the current iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The surprise concerns the iPhone 14 Pro which could get a substantial change with a 3,200 mAh capacity, up from 3,095 mAh on the iPhone 13 Pro. This may not sound big on paperbut it could translate into a few extra hours of screen-on-time paired with a more energy-efficient chipset. Similarly, the iPhone 14 is said to feature 3,279 mAh compared to its predecessor with 3,227 mAh.
Display: Only Iphone 13 Pro And Pro Max Have 120hz Refresh Rate
The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models both feature a 120Hz display. The number of hertz a phone screen is rated for refers to the number of frames per second it can display, which determines how fast and smooth the screen feels when you’re scrolling through apps and web pages. The standard and Mini models, however, don’t feature the 120Hz display.

Using Face Id With A Mask
When wearing a face mask, users can enable an “Unlock with Apple Watch” feature for convenience. Unlock with Apple Watch allows iPhone users to take advantage of an unlocked and authenticated Apple Watch as an alternative authentication measure to unlock their device when wearing a mask. It can’t be used to authenticate Apple Pay or App Store purchases, and it can’t unlock apps that require a Face ID scan.
In iOS 15.4, Apple added the ability for Face ID to work with face masks, with no need for an Apple Watch for authentication. Apple says that the feature can “recognize the unique features around the eye” for authentication purposes. If you opt to use this feature during setup, you will need to rescan your face for Face ID. From there, Face ID will be able to unlock your iPhone even when you’re wearing a mask.
Apple warns in the Settings app that Face ID is “most accurate” when it’s set up for full-face recognition only. For Face ID with a mask to work, you must be looking at your device to get it to unlock, and it does not work when wearing sunglasses. Face ID with a mask can authenticate Apple Pay payments and it can be used in lieu of a login and password in apps that support Face ID, unlike the prior Apple Watch Face ID feature.
The new feature is only available with the iPhone 12 or newer. iOS 15.4 has not yet been widely released to the public and is currently in beta testing.

How Good Is The Iphone 13 Pro Maxs Battery Life
With a battery as large as the one Apples iPhone 13 Pro Max runs, youre looking at some of the best battery performance ever on iPhone. The iPhone 13 Pro Max will run with its screen on, constantly surfing the web over 5G for over 12 hours. The iPhone 12 for comparison could only manage 8 hours.
Similarly, the iPhone 13s battery performance is up massively too: it will do over 10 hours in the same test versus the iPhone 12s meager 8 hours. The OnePlus 9 Pro is still better, however, with impressive near-13 hours of battery life during our intensive battery test.
The iPhone 13 Pro fared slightly worse than the iPhone 13 Pro Max, it did just shy of 12 hours, but that is to be expected. It uses a smaller battery, after all. Still, that is a massive gain over the iPhone 12 Pro which only managed 10 hours in the same test.

You’re Not A Fan Of The New Design Aesthetics
While the larger camera system and bigger battery are better for the day-to-day, it does mean the iPhone 14 Pro is bulkier and can even be uncomfortable to use depending on your hand size. The bigger camera also takes up more space on the back of the phone, possibly making it less back-pocket-friendly.
The new pill notch at the top of the screen, the Dynamic Island features, and the always-on display will be appreciated by some, especially multitaskers, but could be annoying for others. If you simply don’t like the look or don’t want to get used to a new layout, you may want to skip the pesky learning curve and stick with the iPhone 13 Pro.

Its easy to see why weve crowned the iPhone 14 Pro our overall winner: that slightly refined design, new colorways, always-on display, Dynamic Island, and improved battery life and main camera. These arent huge differences, but anyone looking to buy a new iPhone should definitely opt for the iPhone 14 Pro.
Thats not to say the iPhone 13 Pro isnt still an excellent buy, and its likely to come down in price now that the iPhone 14 Pros landed. Youre still getting a powerful processor, beefy battery, and an excellent camera, plus up to 1TB of storage. If youre on a budget and want to save a few bucks, it may be the better buy for you.
