Mophie Magsafe Powerstation Wireless Stand Debuts
Just after we reviewed the new 20,000mAh powerstation pro, mophie is now out with another collection of portable chargers. Taking on different approaches with much of the same fabric-covered design cues, there are four new offerings today for Apple users specifically those who have an iPhone 14 on the way.
Kicking things off is the brands latest MagSafe-enabled offering, the powerstation wireless stand. This $129.95 offering delivers a 10,000mAh internal battery that comes wrapped in a stand form-factor that can prop up your device when not in use. As for how youll be able to take advantage of that built in power, mophie packs a 20W UBS-C PD port in for juicing up just about any device you can plug in.
The real star of the feature set is the MagSafe pad, which makes the mophie powerstation wireless stand an ideal solution for upcoming iPhone 14 owners. Of course, those rocking an iPhone 12 and 13 series device are also covered, too. The pad can dish out up to 15W speeds, though that will only be for Android devices. Much like the official MagSafe Power Bank from Apple, youll only expect to take advantage of 7.5W speeds from the MagSafe-compatible magnet-backed Qi charging pad.
The new mophie powerstation lineup features the following:
Mophie Powerstation Wireless Xl: What I Don’t Like
While the Powerstation Wireless XL is like an almost-perfect mashup of the Powerstation with PD and Powerstation Plus XL Wireless, it is missing the integrated Lightning cable that I love from the latter so much. I know it’s a minor thing, but I had been carrying the Powerstation Plus XL Wireless everywhere because of the convenience of not having to bring my own cable. Unfortunately, you’ll have to go back to supplying your own cables with the Powerstation Wireless XL, and if you don’t already have a USB-C-to-Lightning cable for your iPhone, you may have to upgrade your cables too.
It’s a little pricey for just holding a 10000mAh capacity, but the features make up for it.
Another thing I noticed is that the rubber material surrounding the perimeter of the glossy surface is incredibly prone to collecting lint and dust, and it all sticks there. I kept the plastic cover on it for a while and took it off for the photos here the moment I tried to wipe fingerprint smudges off the glossy surface, the rubber edges were covered in lint from my cleaning cloth. The soft-touch bottom is also prone to getting some lint, dust, and scuff marks. None of this impacts the functionality of the battery pack, but if you’re a perfectionist, it may be hard to keep it pristine.
Convenient and fast, what more could you ask for?

Mophie Powerstation Wireless Xl: The Bottom Line

I have so many battery packs around the house , but the mophie Powerstation Wireless XL is going to be one that I’m adding to my daily rotation. It’s just too convenient it can charge up three ways, including just dropping it on a wireless charging pad and walking away. It may charge slower, but it’s a super easy way to make sure it’s always topped off. And adding the 18W USB-C PD port means my iPhone can go from zero to 100% in about an hour, which isn’t bad at all. And being able to charge up something else wirelessly at the same time is just icing on the cake.

Two Great Portable Battery Solutions From Mophie
I do view both of these Mophie Powerstation portable batteries to be important on-the-go power supplies for most people. But, they are unique based on the use case you truly need.
The Powerstation Pro XL is a good, all-around portable battery that can charge laptops and smartphones/tablets. While it is a bit bigger and heavier, it is designed to give more hours to larger devices, making it ideal for road warriors or people who will be away from a wall plug for an extended period of time.
The Powerstation Plus is more designed for someone worried that their smartphone may die when they are on the go, and they dont want to lug around something heavier or a bunch of extra cables. With its built-in USB-C and Lightning cables, its an all-in-one solution that you can throw in a bag or pocket to extend your smartphones battery quite a bit longer.
The Mophie Powerstation Pro XL retails for $199.95 and is available for purchase on the Mophie site. And the Mophie Powerstation Plus goes for $79.95 on the Mophie site. As these two charging solutions are relatively new to the Mophie lineup, they are not yet available on Amazon. However, I encourage you to look for deals and find other portable batteries and Powerstations on their .

Mophie Powerstation Wireless Xl: Features
The Powerstation Wireless XL has a sleek and portable design, featuring a glossy top surface with rubber edges to keep your phone in place, brushed metallic perimeter edges, and soft-touch rubber bottom. Along the longer edge is a Power button, along with four LED lights to indicate battery status. Along the shorter side is where you’ll find the Lightning and USB-C PD port.
The Powerstation Wireless XL is a better universal battery pack for everything, not just Apple devices, because of the addition of USB-C Power Delivery alongside Qi-compatible wireless charging.
You get 10000mAh of power with the Powerstation Wireless XL, which is larger than both the Powerstation with PD and Powerstation Plus XL Wireless that I previously reviewed. With this capacity, mophie estimates about an additional 55 hours that you’ll be able to squeeze out of your iPhone before having to plug it in to your wall charger.
Since the Powerstation Wireless XL comes with both a USB-C PD port and Qi-compatible wireless charging, it’s not specifically designed to cater to just Apple devices, unlike the other models I’ve tried. You can use this battery pack to charge other devices like your Nintendo Switch, USB-C smartphones and tablets, and even laptops with USB-C . The USB-C PD port has a maximum output of 18W though, so while it’s enough to fast-charge iPhones and other smartphones, it may not charge bigger devices as quickly.
It’s mostly all you need from a battery pack

The Mophie Powerstation Plus Is Perfect For Adding Power To Your Smartphones
While the Powerstation Pro XL is great for charging up laptops and is an extended on-the-go portable battery, the Mophie Powerstation Plus is a bit more portable and designed for smartphones due to its design.
The Powerstation Plus is quite a bit smaller and weighs less than the Powerstation Pro XL. It is definitely less than a pound in weight and measures approximately 5.75 long by 2.75 wide, and is about 5/8 thick. The Powerstation Plus can easily be put in a jacket pocket or a small purse, whereas the Powerstation Pro XL needs a slightly larger bag for carrying.
As the size of the Powerstation Plus is smaller, the specifications are a bit different, including some unique features not found on the Powerstation Pro XL:
- Capacity 10,000mAh battery
- USC-C PD output up to 20W / also used for charging the Powerstation
- Integrated Apple Lightning cable up to 20W
- Integrated USB-C cable up to 20W / also can be used to charge the Powerstation
- 4 LED battery level indicator
- Weight less than a pound
As you can see in the specs above, the Powerstation Plus is quite a bit different than the Powerstation Pro XL. The most significant difference is in the power output. It only has a combined output of 27W, so while you could, conceivably, charge a laptop, the Plus is truly not designed for that.
But, if you dont have a USB-C cable, you can also use the built-in USB-C cable to charge up the internal Powerstation battery. This is a great option to have!

All things considered, I give the mophie powerstation pro a 5/5 rating.
You can pick up the powerstation pro at Apple or up to 30% off at mophie when you get two products.
Mophie Powerstation Wireless Xl: What I Like

In my review of the Powerstation Plus XL Wireless, I pointed out that while it had convenient wireless charging, it only had a USB-A port for charging other devices , and it only had 8000mAh capacity. The Powerstation Wireless XL is basically giving me the best of those two, because now I have 18W fast-charge USB-C output, wireless charging capabilities, and a slight capacity bump to 10000mAh.
This means that the Powerstation Wireless XL is a better universal battery pack for all devices. I enjoy the fact that I can fast-charge my iPhone with USB-C-to-Lightning, and even charge up my AirPods Pro at the same time. Or wirelessly charge my iPhone while also charging my iPad Pro or even MacBook Air. I can even use it for charging up my MacBook Air or iPad Pro, though the 18W output may be a bit slower for the former.
The size is also rather nice, as it is slightly smaller than the Powerstation Plus XL Wireless. This is probably due to the fact that it doesn’t have an integrated Lightning cable. So the Powerstation Wireless XL is even more compact it’s a little smaller than my iPhone 11 Pro, just thicker, so I can still stash it away in my purse.

- It offers a USB-C PD 18W port and wireless charging.
Accessory maker Mophie has just announced the Powerstation Wireless XL and it looks pretty great. It packs a 10,000mAh battery inside and has multiple ways of charging your stuff including wirelessly.
Wireless charging will have your iPhone and AirPods Pro charging without any messy cables, but there’s also a USB-C output for those who want to charge a little more speedily. That port’s rated for 18W Power Delivery and will quickly charge any modern iPhone with the required USB-C to Lightning cable.
Speaking of Lightning, that’s how you’ll charge the Powerstation Wireless XL, with a USB-C input also available. That way you can charge this thing using the same cable that you charge your iPhone with. Pretty clever, right?
