Ltpo Amoled Panel With 120hz
The Google Pixel 6 Pro is equipped with a high-end LTPO AMOLED display. The 6.71″ panel features a 120Hz refresh rate which automatically scales down to 10Hz to conserve power. There are a couple of firsts for Google Pixel with this screen: the Pixel 6 Pro’s display is the first Pixel to support a 120Hz refresh rate and the first Pixel to feature a display with curved edges. With a QHD+ resolution of 1440 x 3120 px, it has a sharp pixel density of 512ppi and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. This display also supports HDR10 content and 24-bit color depth.
In our display brightness tests, the Google Pixel 6 Pro scored 497 nits of maximum brightness using the manual slider. Peak brightness reached 860 nits when set to Adaptive Brightness. These numbers are excellent considering Google’s Pixel phones have historically been behind the competition in screen brightness. Even so, display panels of current flagships from Apple, Samsung, and vivo have already broken past the 1000 nits mark for peak brightness.
Sunlight legibility is great, nonetheless. Menus and screens are visible enough to use, even with dark theme enabled, and the viewfinder is bright enough to see exactly what you’re shooting.
There are three preset color modes on the Pixel 6 Pro. The default color mode is “Adaptive” based on the DCI-P3 color space, there’s a “Natural” color mode based on the accuracy of the sRGB standard, and there’s a “Boosted” mode that’s a slightly more saturated version of the Natural profile.
Pixel 6 Battery Life Is Fine

CNET’s reviews of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro both landed on the battery for the phones being good, but not able to push beyond a single day of usage. In the Pixel 6 review, Patrick Holland said the battery was closer to lasting three-quarters of a day than a full dayon a particularly heavy day of photo and video shooting. Andrew Hoyle put the Pixel 6 Pro as above average, but behind standouts like the iPhone 13 Pro.
Android Police
Android Police reviewers of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro expressed hesitancy in inferring too much from just a week with the phone, but both deemed it to be “good.” While changes to the battery life Settings menu in Android 12 have made it harder to track, Ryne Hager offered that he measured roughly 7 hours of screen-on time for the Pixel 6 Pro. Hager notes that low-light photography was a real killer for the Pixel 6 Pro, but concluded the phone’s endurance was “pretty good.”
TheUnlockr
David Cogen, a.k.a. TheUnlockr on YouTube, ruled that the battery life was “pretty good” in his testing. He dropped the Pixel 6 Pro to 2% battery remaining at 10:30 p.m. after starting the day at 9 a.m., but that was on a testing day that involved over an hour of camera usage and, as he notes, “not a normal day.” On a less aggressive day of testing, he was able to coast through with about 20% remaining after starting the day slightly below 100%.

Pixel 7 Vs Pixel 7 Pro: Which Should You Buy
These two devices are awfully similar in almost every way that matters. If youre considering one over the other, its really going to come down to three factors: size, camera performance, and price.
Although its clear that the Pixel 7 Pro is, without a doubt, the more feature-packed phone, the Pixel 7 is undoubtedly a better fit for anyone with smaller hands. Its hard to call it a small phone, but with a matte aluminum finish around the frame and a flat display, its arguably a better design than the Pro. That said, the larger, sharper display and the bigger battery on the Pixel 7 Pro will be tough for power users to ignore.
As for the cost of these units, not everyone should spend $300 extra to jump up to the Pro. The core specs are nearly identical, making it tough to justify the price increase if youre solely focused on speed alone. Thats where the cameras come in. Really, the choice between the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro depends on whether the telephoto lens is worth it. I wont underplay it the telephoto lens is really fun to shoot with, and well never stop begging Google to bring it to the smaller phone. But if you arent much of a photographer or can settle for Super Res Zoom at up to 8x, its hard to beat the Pixel 7s price.
Whichever one you pick, dont forget to grab a case or two to protect your investment. Theyll keep that glass back from shattering into a million pieces and even improves some of those design issues on the Pixel 7 Pro.

Solution : Start The Google Pixel 6 In Safe Mode
Theres a possibility that an app you downloaded from the Google Play Store is using too much battery life. In order to verify if a downloaded app is causing this issue you need yo start the phone in Safe Mode.
When your phone runs in this mode only the pre-installed apps will be allowed to run making troubleshooting app related issues easy to do.
Starting Google Pixel in Safe Mode
Press and hold the Power button until the Power off prompt appears on the screen then release.
Touch and hold Restart until the Reboot to safe mode prompt appears then release.
Tap OK to confirm.
When the phone restarts, Safe mode appears in the lower-left of the unlock / Home screen.
If the phone battery life improves in this mode then the problem is most likely caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
Pixel 6 Pro Review: Video
Video has also seen a boost thanks to Tensor. You can record HDR live in 4K, offering vivid and punchy videos 4K video is also available on the front-facing camera. Selfie recordings get sound improvements, too, with Speech Enhancement. Google says the Pixel 6 Pro will better filter out background noise to make your voice come through clearly.
Pixels have always taken excellent photos, but have historically struggled with video. Thats changed this year, though Im not sure its as good as the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Theres certainly no Cinematic mode on the Pixel 6 Pro, but that isnt really a bad thing.

Pixel 6 Battery Life Is Bad
MKBHD
Marques Brownlee, a.k.a MKBHD, has been the harshest critic of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro battery life. He reported seeing 3.5 to 4.5 hours of screen on time with the Pixel 6 Pro and less than that with the Pixel 6. This rated an “average at best” from Brownlee and he concluded this would be a phone that would be dead at the end of the day pretty often for him. He’s more accepting of it on the Pixel 6, but concludes that “The battery situation for me has been overall kind of a bummer on the flagship.”
Mr. Mobile
Michael Fisher, a.k.a MrMobile, mirrored MKBHD’s thoughts, saying that “the only consistent low point…is battery life.” He clarifies that it is a full-day phone, but that it is running low a lot earlier in the day than he would like. He also reiterates the same complaint of some of the others that Android 12’s new power consumption makes it much harder to diagnose the culprit for the battery drain.
Check For Software Update
Google invested a lot when it comes to software updates for the Pixel devices. Thankfully all Pixel devices get software updates and patches faster than any other smartphone. And developers are quick to fix any software glitches which might be causing the battery drain. So make sure you keep your smartphone updated. You can update your Pixel 6 or 6 Pro by going to Settings > Software update and following the onscreen instructions to complete the update process.

Pixel 6 Pro Review: Cameras
Now weve come to the thing that defines a Pixel: the cameras. Google pioneered what was possible with computational photography and although other phone makers have since caught up, Pixels regularly feature on our list of the best camera phones. This year, the Pixel 6 Pro ups the ante.
Google upgraded the hardware to complement the improved software algorithms and Tensor strengths. The main sensor is now 50MP, letting in 150% more light according to Google. The 12MP ultrawide camera has a 114-degree field of view and the 48MP telephoto sports a 4x optical zoom thanks to its folded optics. Overall, the Pixel 6 Pro can go up to a 20x digital zoom, with the AI-powered Super Res Zoom to help clean up the final images.
Among the new AI features powered by the Tensor chip, the highlight is Magic Eraser. This is an incredible feat of engineering, letting you effectively remove unwanted items from the background of your photos. Its obviously not perfect, but the Pixel 6 Pro will automatically suggest things to remove. Google says it works best on beaches and at parks.

Google has finally matched its flagship competition with a three-camera smartphone. Past Pixels have dallied with dual-camera setups with a secondary zoom or ultrawide shooter, but never the trifecta of a standard, ultrawide, and telephoto camera. Its long overdue, as Apple, Samsung, and other phone makers have relied on this triple-play configuration in their top phones for some time now. Why does this matter? It greatly expands the types of photos you can get from the phone as well as the quality of those photos. Its worth noting that the and has just a standard and ultrawide camera setup.
Equally important, Google for the cameras. The company has perhaps over-relied on 12MP sensors for its standard cameras dating all the way back to the original Pixel. In the 6 Pro, we get a 50MP standard camera, 12MP ultrawide, and 48MP telephoto. Pixel count isnt everything when it comes to photography, but it doesnt hurt. Mixing the lens selection, modern sensors, and Googles algorithms together should lead to picture magic, right?

Moreover, the zoom is fairly usable through the 20x range. In particular, it was a surprise that the maximum 20x zoom took fairly sharp and colorful images that werent hot garbage. Some smartphone zoom cameras boasting high zoom numbers simply dont deliver. This one does.

Pixel 6/6 Pro Battery Life
Hello! I’ve watched both MKBHD’s and The Verge’s review of the Pixel 6/6 Pro’s battery and both have different opinions. MKBHD says the battery isn’t good while The Verge says it’s good. From personal experience, what do you guys think?
Mine is at 62% at 18:00, day on it started at 07:00. Not had a phone do that before. Pleased for my usage case
What is your usage if i may ask?
I would advise to not listen to other people’s reviews of batteries because you likely don’t have the same use case as anyone else just like the Verge and MKBHD don’t have the same use case. I don’t have the 6 , but this is the same advice I would give on every phone, don’t judge the battery until you get it and start using it yourself. Most phones today have some sort of battery optimization based on your use case and that can take a few days to a week of normal use to fully optimize power consumption.
Solution : Perform A Factory Reset On Your Google Pixel 6
As a last resort you should consider doing a factory reset. This procedure will erase your phone data and bring it back to its original condition.
Before proceeding it is highly recommended that you backup your phone data.
Master reset from settings
From the Home screen, swipe up to view your apps.
Tap the phones Settings app > System > Reset options > Erase all data > Erase all data.
If prompted, enter your PIN or Password.
Tap Erase all data. The device will reboot and begin resetting to factory settings.
Master reset in recovery mode
Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Volume down and Power key at the same time.
When you see the triangle with an exclamation point and Fastboot, release both buttons.
If you see an exclamation point and the words No Command, hold the Power key and press Volume Up button, then release both.
Use the volume keys to highlight Wipe data/factory reset, then press the Power key.
Use the volume keys to highlight Yes, then press the Power key.
Use the volume keys to highlight Reboot system now, then press the Power key.
After the reset has completed do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the battery life improves.

Youre A Casual Smartphone User Who Still Wants The Latest Security Updates
One of the best things about Googles Pixel line has always been that it is among the first to be updated with new Android features thanks to Googles first-party ownership. While all of the flashy new toys those features often include may be fun to play with, the security features those updates also ship with are what keep you and your family safe. Since Google has committed to five years of security updates for all of its Pixel devices, this means you still have about four years of guaranteed security updates left on the Pixel 6 Pro, far more than most similarly priced, newer devices that originally launched as midrange smartphones are likely to offer you. If you dont tend to upgrade your smartphone often, this is well worth noting.
You Have Pro Photographer Or Videographer Aspirations
Googles Pixel smartphone line has been at the forefront of smartphone photo and video technology for pretty much its entire existence, and this generation is no exception. Features like enhanced low-light photography, 4K60 video support even for the front-facing selfie camera, and the ability to unblur both pictures taken by the Pixel 7 Pro itself and elsewhere all promise to make it one of the best photo and video smartphones ever. Features like Guided Frame even let those with vision impairments take great photos via audio and haptic feedback.

Phone Efficiency & Battery Life
While not directly released to the Google Tensor, I also finished running the various battery tests for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, and there are some remarks to be made in regards to the power efficiency of the devices, and how the new SoC ends up in relation to the competition.
As a reminder, the Pixel 6 comes with a 4614mAh battery and a 6.4 1080p 90Hz OLED screen, while the Pixel 6 Pro features a 5003mAh battery and a 6.71 1440p 120Hz OLED display, with variable refresh rate from 10-120Hz.
Starting off with the 60Hz web browsing results, both Pixel phones end up extremely similar in their longevity, at 14 hours runtime. The regular Pixel 6 is hard to compare things to as we dont have too many recent phones with 90Hz displays in our results set, however the Pixel 6 Pro should be a direct comparison point to the S21 Ultras, as both feature 5000mAh batteries and similar display characteristics. The P6Pro here ends up slightly ahead of the Exynos 2100 S21 Ultra, which might not be too surprising given that the Tensor chip does end up at somewhat lower CPU power levels, even if performance is lower. Its still quite behind the Snapdragon 888 variant of the S21 Ultra which is again quite representative of the SoC efficiency differences.
At 120Hz, the 6 Pro ends up worse than the E2100 S21U, and quite worse than the S888 S21U.
Performance Battery Life And Charging
Here it is, the main reason to upgrade to the Pixel 7 Pro: that powerful processor. The Pixel 7 Pro packs Googles latest Tensor G2 SoC, while the Pixel 6 Pro has the older chip. According to Google, the Tensor G2 is faster and more efficient than the base Tensor chip, though in reality, both devices are unlikely to struggle with anything you throw at them, from multitasking to playing the most demanding Android games. Both the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro pack in 12GB of RAM, with up to 512GB of onboard storage and, as expected, thats not expandable.
On to battery life, things are pretty similar, with the Pixel 7 Pros 5,000mAh battery and the Pixel 6 Pros 5,003mAh battery practically identical. Both batteries should easily see you through 24 hours of normal use, and with Extreme Battery Saver mode, you could push battery life to 72 hours. In testing, we were impressed with the Pixel 6 Pros battery life, though there were plenty of reports that others didnt have our rosy experience with the phone. The Pixel 7 Pro has been similarly divided, and it lasted around a day in our review period.
Youll be back up and running quickly with both phones supporting 30W fast charging, taking the battery to 50% in around half an hour though theres no charger in the box. Both devices also support 21W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging for your earbuds and accessories.
Winner: Google Pixel 7 Pro
