What To Consider When Purchasing A Travel Cpap Machine
In order to help ensure that your CPAP therapy while on-the-go is fully compliant and beneficial, there are a number of factors to pay attention to when shopping for your travel CPAP machine. Your unique sleeping habits and health profile, as well as your doctors recommendations, will also determine the best fit. Some important considerations are climate control, pressure range, ramp options, sound level, and data tracking. Well explore these areas and other important factors so you can make an informed decision.
Doctors RecommendationsCPAP machines are considered Class II medical devices and therefore require a prescription from your doctor. Your sleep specialist or doctor may recommend a certain mask model, and youll want to double check that this mask type is compatible with your travel CPAP machine. If your mask is ill-fitting or uncomfortable, your doctor can suggest a more appropriate design.
Machine TypeThere are different machine types when it comes to treating obstructive sleep apnea and they vary in terms of pressure delivery. APAP, standing for auto-adjustable positive airway pressure, offers different pressure rates while you sleep. A BiPAP machine, which stands for bi-level positive airway pressure, features two pressure settings: one for inhalation , and a second for exhalation .
ManufacturerIf youve found a brand that works well for you, its likely that the travel version by the same manufacturer will also be a good fit.

The innovative design features a built-in power block to eliminate bulk and take up minimal space. Either plug the machine directly into an outlet or purchase an optional battery to use off-grid or as a back-up in case the power goes out. Conveniently, the color screen shows the current battery pack charge status so you are never left guessing. And even with the optional battery, the DreamStation Go Auto still weighs in at less than 3 lbs!
But what really makes the DreamStation Go Auto stand out against its competitors is the addition of the new optional heated humidifier. Heated humidification adds moisture to your delivered air to improve comfort during therapy. With the DreamStation Go Auto, the heated humidifier seamlessly connects to the unit. The Best Cpap Battery For Camping
If your machine has a DC adaptor that allows you to power your machine from a 12V cigarette-lighter style socket, then you have the option of powering your unit with the best CPAP battery for camping: the EXP96 Pro. At a capacity of 307.2 Watt-Hours, with the CPAP humidifier disabled and an average pressure setting of 5-10 cm H2O, you can expect four to six full nights of CPAP therapy from a single charge.
The EXP96 Pro is a lithium-iron-phosphate battery that can handle more extreme temperatures of up to 132° F compared to the 104° F limit of standard lithium-ion batteries. It also boasts a life cycle of 5,000 recharges compared to the average 500-charge lifespan of lithium-ion batteries. While it lacks the versatility of a battery like the Portable Outlet UPS Battery, which features a standard AC outlet, the EXP96 is more energy-efficient since it uses DC power. And if thats not good enough, it also offers an optional solar panel charger in addition to the included AC and DC chargers to keep you off-grid as long as you like. The EXP96 can even be set up between your CPAP and a wall outlet and will automatically switch to backup battery power in the event of a power failure, making it a great choice for powered campsites, too.

Reviews From Real Customers
I recently received the Coleman OneSource Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery & 4-Port Quick-Charging Station, and I absolutely love it. I am currently waiting on the lantern I ordered to go with it, but I have mainly been using it as a charger for electronics.
I keep it charged and it works great on my pontoon when we go to the lake. I had problems keeping our devices charged and this has been a life saver. The usb ports on the batteries work amazing! All four batteries have little flashlights built in on the end, and those have been very handy also.
I was truly impressed with the quality and versatility of this. I can use it for SO MANY things. The batteries have a very long life span because I am yet to run them dead. Great product and I would highly recommend to any of my outdoor peeps.

Im very satisfied with the Portable Outlet.
Not sure what product they were discussing . But the guy at my sleep lab recommended this battery and it works as promised. Thanks,.

I have been looking for a product for when the power goes out that would allow me to use my CPAP through the night and this product does that. Based on the variables that the manufacture identifes which impact the battterys ability to last through the night, such as pressure, humidifier on/off, and altitude, I was interesterd to see if the charge would last all night and if so how much power it used.
For reference, I use a Resair APAP that varies the pressure as needed , I had the humidifier on my usual 1, I live at sea level, and used it for a little more than 7 hours. The charge level is represented by 4 lights with no specific percent indicated, so in the mornong one light had gone out which I am interpreting as roughly between 25% and 50% of the battery was used for the night.
